UndefeatED Nutrition

Helping people develop a healthy relationship with food.

Frequenty Asked Questions

What does a dietitian do?

A dietitian helps people with food intake, weight, body image, and related issues. Dietitians are not medical doctors, but are similar in that some treat a wide range of general issues and others specialize in certain types of issues.

What are your rates and do you accept insurance?

$175 for Initial Assessment (75 minutes)

$130 for 50 minute Follow-up

$70 for 30 minute Follow-up

Insurance often places clinically inappropriate limits on treatment and requires details about the issues for which you/your family member are seeking treatment, so to maintain high quality services that maximize your privacy, UndefeatED Nutrition does not accept insurance.

In a perfect world, everyone would have access to the care they need. At UndefeatED Nutrition we are aware that this is not the reality we live in, and it is important to us to do our part to reduce financial barriers to care by offering a limited number of reduced fee slots to people who need it. You can apply for a reduced fee slot by completing the Reduced Fee Application below.

Will I Ever Receive a Surprise Bill From You?

Nope.

Have you ever received a medical bill that was a lot higher than you expected and it was after the fact so you didn’t even have a choice in whether or not to move forward with the service based on the cost? Yeah, me too. Gross.

Good news: a federal law (the “No Surprises Act”) was passed to require transparency regarding cost of services when someone is not using insurance to pay so people aren’t surprised by a bill for services they didn’t expect. More good news: UndefeatED Nutrition LLC has never and will never provide surprise bills for surprise costs. Our cost of services is listed above. If a Reduced Fee is offered, we discuss the exact amount of that prior to your appointment. The fee for each appointment is due at the time of the scheduled appointment and is charged to the card we have on file for you, so not only do you not have to worry about an unexpected fee, you also don’t have to worry about any bills accumulating. You can stop services at any time and therefore have control over how much you pay. No surprises.

The No Surprises Act gives us the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” for certain health-related services (click here for more about your rights). UndefeatED Nutrition is happy to provide you with a formal one at any time if you want. Fair warning though, it’s not very exciting–multiply the cost of the appointments you expect to need by the cost of each appointment. Genius, right? Just kidding. No surprises there either.

You know how in every breakroom at every job ever, there’s the same poster about employee rights in the workplace? Well, the “No Surprises Act” requires the website equivalent of a poster about your rights with regard to medical bills. You can find the full shebang here: https://www.cms.gov/files/document/nosurpriseactfactsheet-final508.pdf
